Boynton Canyon

Boynton Canyon near Sedona is full of cliff dwellings built between A.D. 1125 and 1300 by the Verde Hohokam (aka Southern Sinagua). The first two photos show the largest, best-preserved ruin.

My hiking partner and I discuss if we should remain inside the
dry ruin any longer or brave the downpour ocurring just beyond the
enclave in which the dwelling was built. You don't really understand
the benefit of living among the cliffs until you're caught in a storm.
