Coon Creek

This is another cliff dwelling in the Sierra Ancha. However, unlike the ruins in the Cherry Creek area, its cultural affiliation is Salado rather than Anchan. The Coon Creek cliff dwelling had nine ground floors and possibly two second-story rooms when it was built 700 years ago. Because of the rich red color of the cliff the ruin was built against, the dwelling is sometimes called the Hematite House.
