To be completely honest, I'm not even sure where these photos were taken. I dropped into a deep, narrow gorge on the west side of Canyon Creek, then hiked down the gorge until I actually reached Canyon Creek. I believe it was Willow Creek. What I know for sure is that it was way the hell out in the middle of nowhere. I also remember many "wild" horses, a few of whom became devoted hiking partners after I gave them apples.

At any rate, I didn't include this cliff dwelling in my book because it's just too small. Nevertheless, it's always exciting to discover an archaeological site you weren't even looking for. Because of its location I would guess it's a Mogollon site.
