Camp Creek
I did not include the the Sears-Kay ruin overlooking Camp Creek in my book mainly because it's just too easy to reach. Nevertheless, it's worth a stop if you're driving around that neck of the Tonto Forest. The Hohokam built this hilltop pueblo sometime between A.D. 1050 and 1150, then abandoned it around 1200. Archaeologists have done a bit of reconstruction work to stabilize some the walls, and the last time I spoke with the Forest Service about it (the mid-90s), they had plans to develop the site for public interpretation.
