Eagletail Mts. Wilderness

The Indian Springs area of the Eagletail Mts. Wilderness west of Buckeye contains an interesting mix of petroglyphs created by the Hohokam after A.D. 500 and archaic Indians as far back as 1500 B.C.  The Hohokam rock art includes humans, animals and curvilinear designs, while the archaic style is characterized by more rectangular forms. I "discovered" this site during an outing with the Wandering Soles hiking club on Feb. 27, 2005.

This glyph also appears in the photo

This glyph, which appears to be a
